Who We Are
We are a boutique billing and credentialing partner for behavioral health providers and physicians.
Field & Ledger was founded on a simple belief: therapists and physicians deserve a partner behind the scenes — handling billing, credentialing, and the operational details — with the same level of care and attention they provide to their clients.
We built this practice to deliver exactly that.
Who We Serve
We work with licensed behavioral health providers — therapists, counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists — as well as physicians building remote and hybrid practices. Whether you're launching your first private practice or expanding across state lines, we handle the insurance billing and credentialing work that stands between you and your clients.
Our Approach
We're intentionally small. Every client works directly with the person doing the work. We are not a rotating team of representatives, not a ticketing system, not an offshore call center. When you reach out, you reach a person who knows your practice.
About the Founder
Field & Ledger was founded by Jonathan Bateman, who draws on more than a decade in healthcare, including hands-on experience in administration and revenue cycle management. He holds two master's degrees in healthcare management and public health — credentials he pursued to inform a deeper understanding of how the healthcare system works, and where it tends to fail the providers inside it.
Before founding Field & Ledger, Jonathan worked across the corporate side of healthcare and saw firsthand how easily individual providers — particularly therapists in solo and small group practices — get lost in systems built for hospital networks and large clinics.
The idea behind Field & Ledger came from watching that pattern repeat. Talented clinicians burning out on administrative work. Claims sitting unpaid for months. Credentialing applications stalled with no one following up. Founders of small practices forced to choose between seeing clients and chasing reimbursements.
We believe billing and credentialing should be a quiet, dependable part of your practice — and not another source of stress.
What We Do
- Insurance billing and claims management — submission, follow-up, denials, appeals, and patient payment workflows.
- Credentialing and payer enrollment — initial applications, CAQH maintenance, multi-state licensure support, and recredentialing.
- Operational support — practice setup guidance, EHR billing workflow consultation, and revenue cycle troubleshooting for established practices.
You hold the space. We handle the ledger.
